Home sharing is a cool feature on iTunes with multiple purposes.
Let's say you have an old computer and just upgraded. If you turn on Home Sharing on your old computer you can see your library on the new computer and drag and drop transferring files with ease.
You can listen to your music on any computer in your network without having to be at the main computer.
To Turn on Home Sharing:
- Log in with your Apple ID and password
- Select Turn on Home Sharing
- Also go to Preferences (On a PC Edit-Preferences; On a Mac Select the iTunes Preferences); then select Sharing
- Select Share my library on my local network and home sharing boxes; then click ok
- Your Shared library will now appear on any other computer under Shared:
- Select which songs you want to transfer and drag to your music library
