Monday 7/1/13

Let me be patient.  Let me be humble.  Let me be kind.  Let me remember who I am, what I stand for and always lead with love!  Let me be me.- @DonnieWahlberg

Tuesday 7/2/13

When we backstab, or talk sh*t about others, so we can "feel better" about ourselves?  We usually end up feeling even worse about ourselves. @DonnieWahlberg

Wednesday 7/3/13

Spread LOVE and LOVE will spread!- @DonnieWahlberg

Thursday 7/4/13

Something often happens on the way to greatness. You get overwhelmed at the idea of being THE greatest, instead of just being YOUR greatest!- @DonnieWahlberg

Friday 7/5/13

If you're not tripped by another, in the rush to be selfish, you'd probably just trip yourself instead. Selflessness is much less dangerous!-@DonnieWahlberg

iMessage on Multiple Devices

Do you have multiple devices that you would like to have messages sent and received to in addition to your iPhone? For the most part you can set it up so that you an receive any iMessage from anyone as long as they send it to the Apple ID.

First go into Settings on both devices to ensure that in iMessage you are signed into the same account, once you confirmed that both are signed into the same Apple ID your phone will receive a message stating that iCloud has been signed in on another device. You want to make sure that your cell number is also checked.

Now messages will show up both devices:

Siri Tip of the Week 06/29/13- Directions

Last week I went to the Package Tour with New Kids on the Block and Siri was extremely helpful. I simply told her where I wanted to go (in this case the parking garage near Bridgestone) and she gave me directions. She also gave me walking directions once I got to the garage to the venue. Here's how you can get Siri to tell you where to go.

Press and hold the home button till Siri pops up

Tell Siri Directions to (insert your desired location you can even say home)

Siri will confirm

Siri will then transfer you to the Maps application and start giving you the directions.

You can also ask siri to locate you or find you and she will tell you where you are.

App of the Week 06/29/13- Shazam

This week's App is Shazam. It has been around for a while but I am finding more and more people don't know how about it!

This is a great app that does many things. Let's say there is a song on the radio that you like but don't know who it is by or the name of it? Open Shazam and it will help you determine the song. Let's say there is a song on the TV that you want to know about, open Shazam and it will help you determine the song. Same goes with shows sometimes it will even pick up the name of the TV show you are watching.

@DonnieWahlberg
I do not subscribe to hate.  I will not feed hate.  Do not waste my time with hate.  Those who hate me only hate themselves.  I choose LOVE!

Tuesday 06/25/13

@DonnieWahlberg
Celebrate the good in you. The good things you stand for. Work on the flaws & imperfections but do not let them define or diminish the good!

Wednesday 06/26/13

@DonnieWahlberg
Can you possibly imagine the amount of self hatred one must feel, to spend all of their hours trying to project that hate onto someone else?

iBook of the week 06/22/13- iPhone Photography 101 Tips

This week's iBook is somewhat related to summer. Now that the weather is nice and the kids are out of school more people are going on vacations. Why take a big bulky camera when you can have all your memories on your phone? You can even create a Shared Photo Stream and share your memories with others. (Shared PHotoStream)

iPhone Photography 101 Tips is a great resource for those concerts, Vacations and cruises (or for my BlockHead friends the Follow NKOTB aroung the Country, Remember Betty Walks and well of course the Package Tour)

It talks about editing, reframing, and just photography basics that we users tend to forget when we are using our phone.

Siri Tip of the Week 6/18/13

In honor of the New Kids on The Block Concert and After Party that I will be at tonight and my first time meeting Donnie Wahlberg, this week's Siri tip is musically related.

Say you are driving or might be doing something on your iPhone but want to listen to music. Rather than close out of your screen and open up Music and find the song you want to listen to Siri can find it and play it for you!

  • Bring Siri up by pressing and holding the home button:

  • Tell Siri the song, album, artist or playlist you want to listen to (This doesn't work all that great with iTunes Match I have found)

  • Siri will search your iPhone and then play your song.

App of the Week 06/22/13- Simpsons Tapped Out

If you are a Simpson's fan this is the game for you. This game picks up with this Season Premier the Mayan Calendar and the black hole. The story is that basically a black hole hit Springfield and now Homer and Lisa are in an alternate universe. The goal is to rebuild Springfield and to bring back its residents. You will get quests to complete and build your town, you can collect money pretty frequently and visit other towns. Each week that Simpsons have a new episode they update the Game for little previews or things that are on the show. For example in one episode Moe received a suit. So in the Game there were quests around Moe and his new suit.

iOS 7 Beta

Ok so I did the Beta iOS 7 for both iPhone 4s and my daughter's iPhone 5. All in all I have to say first and foremost it is a BETA version so any bugs or issues I am sure will be fixed. I did like it a lot, and to be honest I can't wait for the official release. With that being said I restored both of our phones today to the 6.1.3 and 6.1.4 version for obvious reasons. Nothing to do with the future of the software but remember it is a BETA version and my apps are all made for 6.1.3. The funny thing is that in all my apps only one had a problem with iOS 7 for the most part the rest worked a little slow but they worked.

I did the beta by seeing a Google+ post by Andrey Rivers  which sent me to the iOS 7 instruction site that I used http://www.letsunlockiphone.com/install-ios-7-beta-without-udid-registration-iphone-ipad-ipod-touch/.

So my thoughts on iOS 7 the BETA version:

  1. I didn't like the Facebook/Twitter screen gone from the notification screen.
  2. I didn't like the calendar view at all. I like having the month view that still shows me the appointments of the day not being forced into a day view.
  3. I wasn't impressed with iTunes radio but in it's defense it is the beta and I never liked the radio apps or the iTunes radio on the computer in the first place.
  4. I loved Dynamic Wallpapers and I must say if they can get this feature working I have two words for you "Donnie 10x" if you don't get that you are not a Blockhead, if you do yup imagine that as your background and lock screen!
  5. I loved the fact that we finally FINALLY will have the weather screen similar to the Galaxy and other Androids.
  6. I like the Control Panel and to be honest I loved the flow of the whole iOS.
  7. My daughter's iphone had this lovely glitch that made me laugh. It would flip between New York Time zone and Chicago. Yup flip, one minute it was an hour ahead the next it was the right time. When we went in and tried to adjust the time zone it only gave us London. I promptly told her the iPhone was trying to make up for the fact that she wanted to go to London and was trying to help. Not to mention that is where her favorite band is so it was just trying to help her out since she can't see them next week. She didn't like the joke and found no humor in me.
  8. The moving wallpaper is pretty cool I hope there will be more wallpaper options when it is officially released. (Donnie 10x will work for me!)

I did some screenshots from my iPhone:
