Susan Komen Race for a Cure Greater Nashville Donation Request

I recently accepted the challenge to raise funds to support the Komen Greater Nashville Race for the Cure® on October 26, 2013 in the fight against breast cancer. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime and the more we raise, the more the Greater Nashville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® can give back to fund vital breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in our own community and support of the search for a cure.

Please join me in the fight by donating in support of my participation in the Race. My goal is to raise $250 this year.  Please help me reach that goal with your financial support.  Online donations are simple, and the site is secure.  Please go to my fundraising page and make a tax-deductible donation online by clicking the link below. If you would prefer, you can also send me your tax-deductible contribution written out to Komen Race for the Cure.
Any amount that you can give will help! I truly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.

Thank you in advance for your support.  Please email me if you have any questions about the Komen Race for the Cure®.  I can be reached at mysti1975@me.com.

iOS 7 How to deactivate Activation Lock

Found the work around! So in the past when the someone forgot their iPhone password the only thing that they could do was restore the iPhone (keep in mind the you still can go into my Computer and drag and drop the photos at least.)  With iOS7 and the Activation lock that presents a problem. Below are the steps to restore an iPhone when it is on iOS7 and Activation Lock is turned on.

Scenario: I forgot my password for my iPhone. I have Find my iPhone turned on and “activation lock” on.
Restoring iPhone gives me this message:

Steps:
You must log into iCloud and deactivate your device, Phone must be off for this to work:
(icloud.com- Find my iPhone- All Devices- any offline devices you can either click on or there will be an x next to them when highlighted. You must confirm that you want to remove it.

Once this is done you will have to put the phone in recovery mode otherwise you will receive this message:

Once in Recovery mode you will be able to click Restore and restore the phone.

Apple iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c: all you need to know

Apple iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c: all you need to know:

'via Blog this'

After several months worth of attention were paid as tribute towards the upcoming iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, we finally saw Apple take the drapes off of its two new arrivals just a few days ago.

Now, depending on where you stand in the whole Apple against the world nonsense, your take on the new iPhones will vary, sometimes wildly. Which is to say, that while facts are facts, both sides will have their own truth – there are those who are already whispering doom, claiming Apple has lost its mojo, while others blindly “see” the usual appeal and quality we've come to expect from Cupertino. If you fall into either one of these two 'categories', it's probably unlikely that the round-up below will affect your opinion much. But those of you who are willing to roll up their sleeves, get dirty, and genuinely want to see the new iPhones for what they really are: you have come to the right place.

Significantly better performance, courtesy of the new Apple-designed 64-bit A7 chip, camera improvements , and a Home key doubling up as a fingerprint scanner – those are the most notable hardware changes in the new, more evolved iPhone 5s. Looking at the iPhone 5c, we see a phone that is the harbinger of a strategy shift at Apple's HQ, though what Cupertino's exact thinking behind the polycarbonate near copy of the iPhone 5 was, remains to be seen. In terms of software, both devices are coming with iOS 7 out of the box, which marks an important step for Apple, a first since the concept of iDevices popped into Steve Jobs mind – this is the first real revamp of the OS, and it brings along a load of new goodies.

iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c essentials: release date, pricing and specs

Apple's new iPhones brought about a host of changes in their wake, so we have hand-picked and summarized for you the most essential points to take home right below.

Okay, now we're all done here. Thanks everyone!
BRAD MOLEN  1:25 PM
One more standing ovation, and Tim is on stage giving him props.
BRAD MOLEN  1:25 PM
I believe the new song is called Tripwire, since it's what he keeps singing in the chorus.
BRAD MOLEN  1:21 PM
Elvis just finished singing two songs, and got a standing ovation. Looks like he has one more; a new song about to be released next week as part of his new album.
BRAD MOLEN  1:12 PM
(We'll hang out through the performance in case there's anything afterward.)
BRAD MOLEN  1:12 PM
With that, we're going to sign out for now and will have some hands-on pics, vids and impressions for you as soon as we can get them. Thanks for joining us today!
BRAD MOLEN  1:10 PM
It's Elvis Costello!
BRAD MOLEN  1:10 PM
There's an invited guest who has gone through great works to get here.
BRAD MOLEN  1:09 PM
"We do really love music and celebrating great artists."
BRAD MOLEN  1:09 PM
"Before we close, we want to return to music."
BRAD MOLEN  1:09 PM
Tim is thanking the teams involved in the process.
BRAD MOLEN  1:08 PM
Ad's over. Loud applause!
BRAD MOLEN  1:08 PM
They're all talking on the 5C in all sorts of different settings.
BRAD MOLEN  1:08 PM
It's the 5C, with different people in different languages. Even Klingon!
BRAD MOLEN  1:07 PM
Tim is summing up the products announced so far, and he's ready to show off an ad.
BRAD MOLEN  1:07 PM
"iOS 7 is the biggest change to iOS since the original iPhone."
BRAD MOLEN  1:07 PM
"These iPhones are packed with remarkable tech, but we've done it in a way that makes it matter to people, making things easier. We don't just pack in feature after feature."
BRAD MOLEN  1:06 PM
Tim Cook is back!
BRAD MOLEN  1:06 PM
By December 2013, it will be available in more than 100 countries.
BRAD MOLEN  1:06 PM
NTT DoCoMo will also get the iPhone in Japan for the first time.
BRAD MOLEN  1:06 PM
This is the first time China will get the iPhone at launch.
BRAD MOLEN  1:05 PM
US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore and the UK!
BRAD MOLEN  1:05 PM
The 5S and 5C will also be available on Sept 20th in stores.
BRAD MOLEN  1:05 PM
The 5C will be available for pre-order on Sept 13th.
BRAD MOLEN  1:05 PM
(The 8GB version of the 4S, that is.)
BRAD MOLEN  1:05 PM
iPhone 4S will stay in the lineup for free.
BRAD MOLEN  1:04 PM
Once again, it's also environmentally friendly. "Others don't talk about this, but we're going to continue doing so because it's important to us."
BRAD MOLEN  1:04 PM
16GB $199, 32GB is $299 and 64GB is $399 on contract. cases are $49 each
BRAD MOLEN  1:03 PM
Actually, he was just summing up iOS 7.
BRAD MOLEN  1:03 PM
Phil's back and now talking about iOS 7.
BRAD MOLEN  1:02 PM
Jony: "We believe technology is at its best and most empowering when it simply disappears."
BRAD MOLEN  1:02 PM
It's never stored on Apple servers or backed up to iCloud. That's great news.
BRAD MOLEN  1:02 PM
Touch ID uses this to make sure it's as accurate as possible.
BRAD MOLEN  1:01 PM
It maps individual details that the eye can't see.
BRAD MOLEN  1:01 PM
The sapphire crystal acts as a lens; the sensor essentially takes a picture of your fingerprint and analyzes it.
BRAD MOLEN  1:01 PM
Setting it up is easy, and it can read multiple fingerprints.
BRAD MOLEN  1:00 PM
Dan Riccio is talking about how the finger is a great replacement for the password.
BRAD MOLEN  1:00 PM
"It's what led us to create Touch ID."
BRAD MOLEN  1:00 PM
"It's not just rampant tech for tech's sake. Every component and process has been considered and measured to make sure it's truly useful and enhances the user experience."
BRAD MOLEN  12:59 PM
"It's meticulously designed and crafted."
BRAD MOLEN  12:59 PM
Now video time. Jony is back.
BRAD MOLEN  12:59 PM
"Since it's built in, you can make iTunes purchases by using your finger to authenticate."
BRAD MOLEN  12:58 PM
"Touch ID has been built deeply into iOS 7."
BRAD MOLEN  12:58 PM
Around it is the stainless steel detection ring, so it can detect that your finger is actually on the button, so you don't have to press it.
BRAD MOLEN  12:58 PM
The sensor is built right into the home button!
BRAD MOLEN  12:58 PM
The sensor is 170 microns thin, 500 ppi resolution, scans sub-epidermal skin layers and has 360-degree readability.
BRAD MOLEN  12:57 PM
"It reads your fingerprint at an entirely new level."
BRAD MOLEN  12:57 PM
Touch ID is now official on the 5S!
BRAD MOLEN  12:57 PM
Now Phil's on to protection. Passcodes are the most popular way. "Unfortunately, some people find that too cumbersome and don't set it up. About half of smartphone customers don't set up a passcode on their device, and they really should."
BRAD MOLEN  12:56 PM
Phil is now showing a 28MP panoramic shot, and you can adjust exposure automatically as you go along.
BRAD MOLEN  12:55 PM
Large amounts of laughter from the audience.
BRAD MOLEN  12:55 PM
And the squirrel is back for another photo shoot! Apparently he's back due to popular demand.
BRAD MOLEN  12:54 PM
Phil just showed someone running in normal time and then it turned into a slo-mo as the man dived into a pool.
BRAD MOLEN  12:54 PM
It's capturing HD 720p video at 120 fps and you can go in and select which parts of the video you want in normal speed, and which parts you want in slo-mo.
BRAD MOLEN  12:53 PM
Slo-mo is supported as well; 120 fps.
BRAD MOLEN  12:53 PM
You can keep multiple photos from that series of burst shots.
BRAD MOLEN  12:52 PM
Thanks to A7, the phone analyzes all of the burst shots and presents which one it thinks will be your pick for best shot."
BRAD MOLEN  12:52 PM
"This is great for action shots and fidgeting kids."
BRAD MOLEN  12:52 PM
Burst mode if you hold down the shutter button, up to 10 frames per second, as long as you hold the button down.
BRAD MOLEN  12:51 PM
It appears to be digital stabilization.
BRAD MOLEN  12:51 PM
It also has auto image stabilization!
BRAD MOLEN  12:51 PM
Phil is showing a current pic, where the skin tones don't look right; the new pic from the 5S makes the skin tones look a lot more natural!
BRAD MOLEN  12:50 PM
The flash solves the problem of clashing color temperatures. There are over 1,000 unique variations.
BRAD MOLEN  12:49 PM
There's a new flash called True Tone.
BRAD MOLEN  12:49 PM
It also picks the sharpest of the series of photos.
BRAD MOLEN  12:49 PM
It also does autofocus matrix metering. "It's DSR, double stuff."
BRAD MOLEN  12:49 PM
iOS 7 is designed to take advantage of the new camera. It automatically sets white balance, exposure level and creates a dynamic local tone map.
BRAD MOLEN  12:48 PM
Bigger pixels make for a better picture, Phil says.
BRAD MOLEN  12:47 PM
15 percent larger active sensor area.
BRAD MOLEN  12:47 PM
The new camera has a 5-element Apple designed lens with f/2.2 aperture.
BRAD MOLEN  12:47 PM
"It used to be that to take better pics, you just learned to become a better photographer."
BRAD MOLEN  12:47 PM
"People love taking photos. We wanted to get smarter and better."
BRAD MOLEN  12:46 PM
Next, the camera.
BRAD MOLEN  12:46 PM
10 hours LTE browsing, 40 hours music playback.
BRAD MOLEN  12:46 PM
10 hours 3G talk time, 250 hours standby.
BRAD MOLEN  12:46 PM
What about battery life?
BRAD MOLEN  12:46 PM
It uses the M7 chip and GPS to keep track of the activities you're doing.
BRAD MOLEN  12:45 PM
Nike is creating a new app called Nike+ Move.
BRAD MOLEN  12:45 PM
They're also adding a CoreMotion API which identifies user movement and optimizations based on contextual awareness.
BRAD MOLEN  12:45 PM
It enables a new generation of health and fitness apps, Phil says.
BRAD MOLEN  12:44 PM
It measures motion data continuously; accelerometer, gyroscope, compass support.
BRAD MOLEN  12:44 PM
There's a new part called M7, that works alongside the A7. It's a motion co-processor.
BRAD MOLEN  12:44 PM
They're off, and Phil is back. "I hope you're blown away. I am."
BRAD MOLEN  12:44 PM
"Infinity Blade III will redefine the power of gameplay. It will be available alongside the new iPhone 5S."
BRAD MOLEN  12:43 PM
"We were able to add four times the detail to this dragon."
BRAD MOLEN  12:42 PM
The gameplay is absolutely gorgeous.
BRAD MOLEN  12:42 PM
There's a new boss that eats the old boss for lunch.
BRAD MOLEN  12:42 PM
And lens flares "that would make JJ Abrams proud."
BRAD MOLEN  12:41 PM
You can now combine advanced rendering effects like DoF, blur and full screen vignettes.
BRAD MOLEN  12:41 PM
"Converting games to 64-bit is usually a painful process, but with Apple it took 2 hours."
BRAD MOLEN  12:41 PM
They're demoing how fast you can transition from one world to another.
BRAD MOLEN  12:40 PM
Each of these areas is as big or bigger than the entire first game.
BRAD MOLEN  12:40 PM
There are up to 8 worlds. You play two characters.
BRAD MOLEN  12:40 PM
Epic is announcing Infinity Blade III, the conclusion to the trilogy.
BRAD MOLEN  12:39 PM
"I can hardly believe it's been 3 years since we introduced Infinity Blade."
BRAD MOLEN  12:39 PM
Chair (owned by Epic Games) Co-Founder Donald Mustard is coming on stage.
BRAD MOLEN  12:39 PM
Demo time!
BRAD MOLEN  12:39 PM
"This will enable breakthroughs in performance for graphics-intensive games."
BRAD MOLEN  12:38 PM
It runs OpenGL ES 3.0.
BRAD MOLEN  12:38 PM
56 times as fast as the original iPhone.
BRAD MOLEN  12:38 PM
"Half of that performance increase comes today with the A7."
BRAD MOLEN  12:38 PM
The CPU performance is 40 times faster than the original iPhone! Whoa.
BRAD MOLEN  12:38 PM
"Why go through this? The benefits are huge. The CPU is twice as fast, and graphics are twice as fast as well."
BRAD MOLEN  12:38 PM
It will have Xcode support, and it's backwards-compatible. 32- and 64-bit.
BRAD MOLEN  12:37 PM
It'll have a native 64-bit kernel, libraries, and drivers.
BRAD MOLEN  12:37 PM
iOS 7 has also been updated for 64-bit as well.
BRAD MOLEN  12:37 PM
Twice as many transistors for roughly the same size as the A6.
BRAD MOLEN  12:37 PM
The A7 is a modern instruction set, with 2x general purpose registers, 2x floating point registers, over 1 billion transistors and 100 square mm die size.
BRAD MOLEN  12:36 PM
"I don't think the other guys are even talking about it yet."
BRAD MOLEN  12:36 PM
The first ever of any kind.
BRAD MOLEN  12:36 PM
It contains the A7 chip! A 64-bit chip.
BRAD MOLEN  12:36 PM
"The iPhone 5S is a huge leap forward in mobile computing performance."
BRAD MOLEN  12:35 PM
"Thank goodness we've moved beyond that."
BRAD MOLEN  12:35 PM
He's reminiscing about the old days of computing.
BRAD MOLEN  12:35 PM
First, the performance.
BRAD MOLEN  12:35 PM
Gold, silver and space grey colors, to be specific.
BRAD MOLEN  12:35 PM
"The team has carefully considered every detail. It IS the gold standard." We see what you did there, Phil.
BRAD MOLEN  12:35 PM
"It's made of a high-grade aluminum with cut chamfered edges."
BRAD MOLEN  12:34 PM
Three colors. Black, gold and silver.
BRAD MOLEN  12:34 PM
There's the gold!
BRAD MOLEN  12:34 PM
Now we're seeing a quick video of what it looks like.
BRAD MOLEN  12:34 PM
It's packed with incredible technologies, he says.
BRAD MOLEN  12:34 PM
"It's the most forward-thinking phone we've ever created."
BRAD MOLEN  12:33 PM
Now we're on to the second iPhone. the iPhone 5S!
BRAD MOLEN  12:33 PM
Video's over and Phil is back. Lots of applause on this!
BRAD MOLEN  12:33 PM
"It's the vivid realization of hardware and software together in one device."
BRAD MOLEN  12:33 PM
It definitely appears that iOS 7 is meant to complement the colors on the 5C.
BRAD MOLEN  12:32 PM
Craig is now on the video, showing off the graphics, battery life and FaceTime.
BRAD MOLEN  12:32 PM
The new cases are pretty crazy -- it looks like you can play Connect 4 on the back of your iPhone.
BRAD MOLEN  12:31 PM
It offers a dense feel you wouldn't expect from a plastic product, Jony says.
BRAD MOLEN  12:31 PM
They then insert the rear plate and the assembly goes through multiple processes, like a hard coat that adds a glossy look.
BRAD MOLEN  12:30 PM
The video is now showing the inside. A single piece of polycarbonate, into which they install a reinforced steel frame.
BRAD MOLEN  12:30 PM
"We took the same care with how the 5C feels in your hand."
BRAD MOLEN  12:30 PM
The surface is continous and seamless.
BRAD MOLEN  12:29 PM
"iPhone 5C is beautifully, unapologetically plastic."
BRAD MOLEN  12:29 PM
"We believe the iPhone is an experience."
BRAD MOLEN  12:29 PM
"It's simpler, more essential, more capable and more colorful."
BRAD MOLEN  12:29 PM
Now on to a video starring Sir Jony Ive.
BRAD MOLEN  12:28 PM
Arsenic-free, mercury-free, and Android-free. Huge laughter at that one!
BRAD MOLEN  12:28 PM
It also hits the checkmarks on the environmental checklist.
BRAD MOLEN  12:28 PM
The new cases are $29 each.
BRAD MOLEN  12:28 PM
That's with a 2-year contract, by the way.
BRAD MOLEN  12:28 PM
Blue, white, pink, yellow and green. 16 GB is $99, 32GB is $199.
BRAD MOLEN  12:27 PM
It also supports more LTE bands than any other smartphone in the world. dual-band WiFi abgn, and BT 4.0.
BRAD MOLEN  12:27 PM
New Facetime HD camera that's even better in lowlight... 1.9-micron pixel size, BSI and FaceTime audio.
BRAD MOLEN  12:26 PM
8MP iSight camera, BSI, hybrid IR filter and 5-element lens.
BRAD MOLEN  12:26 PM
It's powered by A6.
BRAD MOLEN  12:26 PM
4-inch retina display, integrated touch, full sRGB, widescreen video are among the specs.
BRAD MOLEN  12:26 PM
Made with hard-coated polycarbonate. "Inside it's built with a new construction method that uses a reinforced steel structure."
BRAD MOLEN  12:25 PM
There's a cool line of custom cases for the 5C. They've designed areas around the cameras and flash.
BRAD MOLEN  12:24 PM
It looks great with the colorful iOS 7 as well, Phil says.
BRAD MOLEN  12:24 PM
No seams, part lines or joints.
BRAD MOLEN  12:24 PM
This is iPhone 5C, and it's really stunning. It delivers color through every detail. The entire back and sides are made from a single part. The front is one multitouch surface.
BRAD MOLEN  12:24 PM
Green, yellow, blue iPhones. White and red are there too.
BRAD MOLEN  12:23 PM
"But you haven't seen it before...not like this." Video time.
BRAD MOLEN  12:23 PM
"A few of you may have seen some shots on the web. And that's cool!"
BRAD MOLEN  12:23 PM
An incredible all new design that's more fun and colorful.
BRAD MOLEN  12:23 PM
"Made with all the incredible tech that customers love with iPhone 5."
BRAD MOLEN  12:23 PM
iPhone 5C!
BRAD MOLEN  12:23 PM
"I have the great honor to introduce the new products to you."
BRAD MOLEN  12:22 PM
Huge applause for Phil!
BRAD MOLEN  12:22 PM
Now Phil Schiller will come up to talk about these new iPhones.
BRAD MOLEN  12:22 PM
"This allows us to serve even more customers."
BRAD MOLEN  12:22 PM
There are two new designs!
BRAD MOLEN  12:22 PM
"The business has become so large, so this year we're going to replace the iPhone 5."
BRAD MOLEN  12:22 PM
"In the past, we've lowered the price of the current iPhone, making it accessible to more people. This year, we're not going to do that."
BRAD MOLEN  12:21 PM
"iPhone 5 helped take our iPhone business to an entirely different level."
BRAD MOLEN  12:21 PM
He's talking about iPhone 5, which was instantly the most loved iPhone ever -- and the best selling.
BRAD MOLEN  12:21 PM
"A couple of you may have been expecting this."
BRAD MOLEN  12:21 PM
Now onto iPhone.
BRAD MOLEN  12:20 PM
Once again, more applause.
BRAD MOLEN  12:20 PM
For any new iPad or new iPhone or 5th-gen iPod Touch.
BRAD MOLEN  12:20 PM
"iOS 7 will present you with a screen that lets you download these apps."
BRAD MOLEN  12:20 PM
Free on all new iOS devices.
BRAD MOLEN  12:20 PM
Huge applause!
BRAD MOLEN  12:20 PM
"Today we're announcing that we're making all five of these apps free."
BRAD MOLEN  12:19 PM
"We think that iWork has a keen advantage for productivity, and iPhoto and iMovie are great for creativity." No other platform has apps like these, he says.
BRAD MOLEN  12:19 PM
iMovie lets you make full HD movies from your iPhone or iPad.
BRAD MOLEN  12:19 PM
Apps like iPhoto, which bring photo editing to the next level.
BRAD MOLEN  12:18 PM
iPad isn't just great for consuming content, it's great for creating content.
BRAD MOLEN  12:18 PM
Then there's Pages and Numbers as well. Of course, Tim thinks those are the best too.
BRAD MOLEN  12:18 PM
"Keynote is the most powerful presentation program ever made."
BRAD MOLEN  12:18 PM
The first app is Keynote.
BRAD MOLEN  12:17 PM
"iWork now consists of the best selling mobile productivity app on any platform."
BRAD MOLEN  12:17 PM
Now onto iWork.
BRAD MOLEN  12:17 PM
Tim's talking about the collaboration between Jony's team and Craig's team.
BRAD MOLEN  12:17 PM
Craig's off and now Tim is back on stage.
BRAD MOLEN  12:17 PM
iPhone 4+, iPad 2+, iPad mini, and 5th-gen iPod touch will all get iOS 7.
BRAD MOLEN  12:16 PM
iOS 7 will be free starting Sep 18th.
BRAD MOLEN  12:16 PM
"Downloading iOS 7 is like getting an all new phone that you already know how to use."
BRAD MOLEN  12:16 PM
Craig's definitely doing a lot of jokes at his own expense; there was a to-do app for buying shampoo and conditioner earlier.
BRAD MOLEN  12:15 PM
You can create your own stations. You can express your own taste by searching for Rush, for instance. Huge laughter from the audience.
BRAD MOLEN  12:15 PM
"It's the best way to experience new music."
BRAD MOLEN  12:14 PM
In iOS 7, there's also a new music experience, with iTunes Radio.
BRAD MOLEN  12:14 PM
Tap on the lower left to share photos.
BRAD MOLEN  12:14 PM
"What's really awesome is that on the retina display you can make out different parts of your collection and you can pick out one particular photo and bring it forward."
BRAD MOLEN  12:13 PM
You can also look at the full year view.
BRAD MOLEN  12:13 PM
An entire vacation automatically pulled together into one group.
BRAD MOLEN  12:13 PM
Now onto Photos. You can group your photos by moments, based on time and location when they were taken.
BRAD MOLEN  12:12 PM
Lots of techno ringtones. "You may miss a call because you're dancing!"
BRAD MOLEN  12:12 PM
New ringtones as well!
BRAD MOLEN  12:12 PM
Inline web search. Interestingly, it looks like it's powered by Bing.
BRAD MOLEN  12:12 PM
You'll also be able to choose a male voice for Siri.
BRAD MOLEN  12:11 PM
Siri is also improved. "What's Lady Gaga saying?" Siri shows some of the latest tweets.
BRAD MOLEN  12:10 PM
Search is also more convenient; just pull down from any panel on the home screen.
BRAD MOLEN  12:10 PM
Notification Center can be brought up from the lock screen as well as a swipe down from the top.
BRAD MOLEN  12:10 PM
Swipe up from the bottom to bring up Command Center.
BRAD MOLEN  12:10 PM
Many of this we've seen before. He's showing off the parallax effect on the wallpaper now.
BRAD MOLEN  12:09 PM
"Virtually overnight hundreds of people will download iOS 7. It starts with the lock screen."
BRAD MOLEN  12:09 PM
"It was just 3 months ago at WWDC that we unveiled iOS 7."
BRAD MOLEN  12:09 PM
Craig Federighi is up now to talk about iOS 7.
BRAD MOLEN  12:08 PM
"iOS will quickly become the world's most popular operating system."
BRAD MOLEN  12:08 PM

BRAD MOLEN  12:08 PM
Now he's talking about iOS. Time for an update.
BRAD MOLEN  12:07 PM
"I would encourage you to drop by after today's event."
BRAD MOLEN  12:07 PM
It's much larger than the previous store.
BRAD MOLEN  12:07 PM
He's talking about the Stanford store, which is getting a huge replacement.
BRAD MOLEN  12:06 PM
But right now he's going to talk the US specifically.
BRAD MOLEN  12:06 PM
"We're expanding our footprint outside the US."
BRAD MOLEN  12:06 PM
Now on to retail.
BRAD MOLEN  12:06 PM
"I really encourage you to catch a couple concerts."
BRAD MOLEN  12:05 PM
Huge applause at the end of that video.
BRAD MOLEN  12:05 PM
Lady Gaga opened the festival, and now we're seeing some of her performance.
BRAD MOLEN  12:05 PM
Now everyone is rushing into the venue. Reminds us of rushing into the Town Hall just about 10 minutes ago, actually.
BRAD MOLEN  12:04 PM
And now to the fans waiting outside, who are dressed up in all sorts of costumes.
BRAD MOLEN  12:04 PM
They're testing the lighting, polishing guitars and so on.
BRAD MOLEN  12:04 PM
Showing the outside of the venue as everyone gets prepared for the festival.
BRAD MOLEN  12:03 PM
They prepared a video for it.
BRAD MOLEN  12:03 PM
You can enjoy them on your iPhone or iPad, or even Mac or PC.
BRAD MOLEN  12:03 PM
Many of the concerts are also available on demand.
BRAD MOLEN  12:03 PM
"We wanted everyone to join this experience, so we're livestreaming these concerts to over 100 countries."
BRAD MOLEN  12:03 PM
As you can imagine, demand has been off the charts. 20 million people applied for tickets!
BRAD MOLEN  12:02 PM
It's held in the historic Roundhouse in London. "Despite being the hottest ticket, it costs nothing to get in."
BRAD MOLEN  12:02 PM
"We can't wait to see Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry and so many others."
BRAD MOLEN  12:02 PM
Artists like Elton John, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga and more.
BRAD MOLEN  12:02 PM
30 nights of performances in London.
BRAD MOLEN  12:02 PM
Tim is talking about the iTunes festival, which is in its 5th year.
BRAD MOLEN  12:01 PM
"We're excited to show you some things we're really proud of." But first, some updates.
BRAD MOLEN  12:01 PM
"Thank you very much for joining us. A special welcome goes out to those joining us in Beijing and Tokyo who are joining us today."
BRAD MOLEN  12:01 PM
Huge thunderous applause.
BRAD MOLEN  12:01 PM
And Tim Cook has just entered the building!
BRAD MOLEN  11:59 AM
We've already seen Al Gore in attendance, and Myriam was personally called out by Tim Cook as he passed from the main hallway into the venue.
BRAD MOLEN  11:57 AM
Myriam Joire is joining me at today's event. She'll be taking care of the pictures, and I'll be on text, so now you know where all hate mail should be directed.
BRAD MOLEN  11:56 AM
The current music selection: Walking in your Footsteps, by Shout Out Louds.
ZACH HONIG  11:56 AM
Brad and Myriam are seated, so they'll own the liveblog from here. Enjoy!
ZACH HONIG  11:55 AM
Mason Mathews ‏(@MasonMathews) has an unlikely prediction, but we wouldn't object. "Hopefully they'll come through with with an Engadget edition iPhone this year ;) #engadgetiphone"
BRAD MOLEN  11:55 AM
Town Hall is incredibly small -- probably only room for 200-300 people in here.
BRAD MOLEN  11:54 AM
And we're in! We have some comfortable seats and power outlets, so we're happy.
ZACH HONIG  11:53 AM
From Arsalan Zahid ‏(@debrancherenzym) on Twitter: "Final predictions: iphone 5S with same design, 5C plastic, ios7, some tweaked ipads and maybe an ipod #engadgetiphone" Some safe bets there, though we'd be surprised if Apple unveiled a new iPad today.
DARREN MURPH  11:52 AM
Myriam (@tnkgrl) and Brad (@phonewisdom) just took their seats! We'll have text and imagery from within Apple's Town Hall in mere moments. Mere. Moments.
ZACH HONIG
Six minutes to go!
ZACH HONIG  11:51 AM
From Ray Conger ‏(@rayconger): "Pre-orders starting today #predictions #engadgetiphone pic.twitter.com/c0lQLabalr" ... maybe even products in stores, perhaps?
ZACH HONIG  11:50 AM
Just 10 minutes until the event kicks off. But you probably already knew that. Tweet with the #engadgetiphone hashtag to share your predictions before the show gets started in Cupertino.
DARREN MURPH  11:49 AM
A little inspirational quote up on the wall. Tim Cook's not messing around with the whole "what's next" thing, huh?
ZACH HONIG  11:48 AM
Over on Twitter, Sean (@seanlacey) asks: "What are the chances of Apple announcing something new that does not begin with the letter i?" Let us know what you think by tweeting with the #engadgetiphone tag.
DARREN MURPH  11:48 AM
That's a look at the second holding stage -- a packed house awaits. Doors should be opening up within five minutes or so.
ZACH HONIG  11:47 AM
You can follow the event right here, but you can track our news posts at the iPhone event landing page at this link: http://www.engadget.com/event/iphoneevent2013/
DARREN MURPH  11:45 AM
Live from outside of Apple's headquarters, I can say that this is the most crowded I've seen the place. That giant new campus that Apple's lobbying Cupertino to build? It'll probably have a bigger auditorium, too.
ZACH HONIG  11:45 AM
As for an Apple smartwatch, Stefan Markus (‏@stefanzekopitar) just weighed in with "I've stopped wearing a watch because I always have my phone with me. It'd have to do something spectacular." #engadgetiphone
ZACH HONIG  11:44 AM
We'd love nothing more than to see a larger screen on an iPhone, but we're not counting on it. #engadgetiphone
DARREN MURPH  11:43 AM
The last of the media are trickling into Infinite Loop 4 -- for those keeping score, this is the same locale that Apple revealed the iPhone 4S in back in 2011.
ZACH HONIG  11:43 AM
From RinnieRin ‏(@HeyItss_Rinnie): "iPhone 5 with 5-inch screen pleaseeeee."
ZACH HONIG  11:42 AM
There've been some rumblings about such a device. Would you buy an Apple smartwatch? Tweet @engadget with the #engadgetiphone hashtag to let us know!
ZACH HONIG  11:42 AM
From Ben Heyman (‏@heyheyman): "Might we see a wearable as a one more thing?"
ZACH HONIG  11:40 AM
Here's a shot of the queue from Cupertino. Lots of familiar faces in the crowd. 20 minutes until showtime!
ZACH HONIG  11:39 AM
In the meantime, it's time for you to join in on the fun! Tweet @engadget with your predictions. Be sure to include the #engadgetiphone hashtag and it may show up (along with your handle) right here!
ZACH HONIG  11:37 AM
We'll be back with the play-by-play just as soon as Brad and Myriam find their seats in the venue. Stay tuned to this page! Text and photos will refresh automatically as they're added.
ZACH HONIG  11:36 AM
Myriam Joire has her badge in hand! It's blue. And there's an Apple logo. Any questions?
ZACH HONIG  11:33 AM
From our fearless Brad Molen, currently in queue: "You've arrived! But we haven't. If you're here a little early, fret not -- we'll be back at 10AM PT to kick things off from Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California. The topic of conversation? iPhone, naturally. We're expecting an iPhone 5S and perhaps an iPhone 5C for those seeking something a little more vibrant. Of course, a gilded iPhone is also pretty vibrant. At any rate, be sure to bookmark this very page and return at the time listed below -- if the machines behind the scenes are working properly, it'll calculate based on your time zone. Huzzah!"http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/10/apple-iphone-liveblog-2013/

BRAD MOLEN  1:25 PM
"Next month we will ship the 700 millionth iOS device."
Huzzah!"
